Automation Proposal & ROI Review

An independent reviewer for vendor proposals and business cases, before you authorize a major investment.

What we review

A vendor's ROI is built on the vendor's assumptions. We test each one against your operation.

  1. 1

    Equipment Investment

Hardware, software, integration, facility modifications and infrastructure.

  2. 2

    Operating Economics

Labor, maintenance, software subscriptions, support and expected utilization.

  3. 3

    Performance Validation

Actual throughput requirements, peak capacity, productivity and downtime assumptions.

  4. 4

    Financial Comparison

Payback, five-year total cost, sensitivity analysis and alternative scenarios.

Questions every proposal should answer

  • Is the scope complete, and what is excluded or left to change orders?
  • Do throughput and peak assumptions match your actual order data?
  • What utilization, uptime and labor savings does the payback depend on?
  • How does the proposal compare with alternatives, including doing less automation?
  • What happens to the case if volume, wages or interest rates move?

How it works

We start with an initial screening of your proposal and goals. If a full financial evaluation is warranted, scope and fees are agreed with you before work begins.

Want to test numbers first? Use the AMR Calculator or review the labor gap, turnover & training costs a calculator can understate.

Sample proposal risk-review excerpt

The hypothetical issues below demonstrate a review format—not findings about a real customer, supplier or proposal.

Sample proposal risk-review excerpt — illustrative format only
Illustrative issueDecision riskEvidence and next action
Peak throughput has not been demonstratedHigh: proposed capacity may not support the busiest shiftOperations lead: validate representative peak-order data and agree a witnessed acceptance test before approval
Integration responsibilities are unclearHigh: unplanned scope or delays could affect go-liveIT lead and supplier: confirm interfaces, ownership, costs and testing responsibilities
Recurring costs are excluded from paybackMedium: the business case may overstate returnsFinance lead: include support, subscriptions, maintenance and replacement assumptions in a five-year comparison
Labor savings assume immediate full adoptionMedium: ramp-up could delay expected savingsOperations lead: model training, transition staffing and a slower-ramp sensitivity scenario

An agreed review can document the issue, supporting source, risk priority, responsible owner, recommended action and closure status. Actual priorities depend on your operation and evidence.
